Presto & Jinx

"Presto & Jinx" tells a hauntingly beautiful love story inspired by the mystery, magic, and romance of New Orleans. Created, produced, and directed by Brittnee Garza, this 2 1/2-minute act seamlessly blends stilt walking and dance, set to an original mashup of "I Put A Spell On You" and "Stitches," which perfectly captures the mood of the piece.

The characters, Presto and Jinx, draw inspiration from voodoo practices of the late 1700s to early 1800s, honoring the Haitian settlers who introduced the mystical tradition to the region. Their story embodies the magical, transformative power of love and ritual.

The original costumes are true works of art, each meticulously handcrafted. From the creation of Presto's iconic top hat and the sculpted bones and beads on his costume to the coloring and styling of Jinx's ethereal wig, every detail was crafted by hand. The set design is equally captivating, with an abstract, bayou-inspired atmosphere. Hand-built trees and hundreds of yards of ghillie suit material were carefully woven together to create a haunting Spanish moss effect.

For an even deeper sensory experience, clients can choose to immerse their guests in the essence of New Orleans by filling the air with scented aromas, evoking the charm and mystery of the city.
